Plating

Copper Plate

  • The cyanide copper plating tanks allow for a variety of copper plating applications such as masking for heat treating, malcolmized stop off, masking for nitriding, etc.

 

Abrasive Finishing

  • Special equipment is used when required for pre-plate finishes or cleaning. The procedures are dry blasting (aluminum oxide or glass bead).

Chromium Plating

  • Hard Chrome plating tanks contain 5,872 gallons of plating solution and have a total of 31,500 amperes of D.C. power provided by 11 separate rectifiers. A large measure of our success is due to the development of highly specialized techniques for the design and construction of our own Plating Racks and Fixtures, providing for: reduction of labor consuming masking with lacquers, tapes and waxes, elimination of time consuming outside-source rack fabrication, control of plating thicknesses on sharp edges and recessed areas.

Cadmium Plating

  • Bright cadmium plating, low embrittlement cadmium plating, and titanium cadmium plating are done to the highest degree of quality. This department specializes in specification finishes for aerospace applications. Tanks up to ten feet long provide 1,210 gallons of still-tank capacity. Four sizes of plating barrels provide for economical processing of various quantity orders.

Nickel Plating

  • Electroless (Chemical) Nickel Plating, Electro Deposit Nickel Plating and Sulfamate Nickel Plating. Technicians sample plating solution concentration and temperature several times daily to ensure Nickel Deposit thickness and uniformity.

Plating On Aluminum

  • Hard Chrome, Cadmium, Nickel and Copper Plating on Alumnium is controlled to customer specifications. Adhesion of the plating to the Alumnium basis metal exceeds the strictest test requirements.

Quality Control

  • The lab is temperature and humidity controlled for consistency in measurement and testing. Specialized equipment includes 2 Permascope thickness testers, a Delta Scope thickness tester, Jo-blocks, micrometers, surface plate, plug gauges, vernier calipers, dial bore indicators, dial indicators, etc. All equipment is inspected for accuracy and calibrated to ensure consistent readings.
